Protection of the Amazon forest in Brazil and of the forests in Italy

TIM has achieved Carbon Neutrality of its websites thanks to an international project to protect over 28 hectares of Amazon forest in Brazil.
In fact, the Group has chosen to support the Maisa REDD+, a project that promotes the conservation of the Amazon rainforest, through the monitoring of illegal deforestation and the involvement of local populations to preserve the biodiversity of flora and fauna.
TIM will also support in the spring two forest requalification projects in Italy to increase urban green areas and to generate services for the area.
The first in the North Park of Milan, where he will plant 80 new trees in addition to last year's 70 which, in an average life cycle of thirty years, will contribute to the absorption of approx 50 tons of CO2, equivalent to the emissions of approx 500 refrigerators in operation for a year.
The second in Umbria, Where TIM will support a project for the management of the “Forest of Città della Pieve-Piegaro".

The CO2web methodology of Rete Clima used as a reference

To evaluate the emissions of the websites, the CO2web methodology developed by Climate Network, a non-profit organization specialized in the promotion of sustainability and verified by theICMQ body, which based the calculation on the energy consumption of the servers that host the web pages and of all the services necessary for their operation.
Carbon Neutrality of sites is certified by the Green label “CO2 emission zero website”.
