Lifestyle or "way or style of life" is the set of interests, opinions, behaviors and behavioral orientations of an individual, a group or a culture. Documented since 1961, it represents the profile of thought and action characterizing a single individual or a category of individuals. It is composed of personality traits, values, attitudes, interests, opinions, behaviors and social practices, variously combined with each other. Lifestyle allows you to segment a population into a discrete number of styles. These are understood as ideal-typical models to which individuals correspond with greater or lesser stringency. The concept of "way or style of life" has two main historical roots. One is psychological, dating back to Alfred Adler. In it, he indicates the "unifying principle that organizes, in the individual, the direction of action, the goal, tendencies and aspirations into a single model". The other is sociological, dating back to Thorstein Veblen and Max Weber. In it, profiles of thought and action are adopted by social sectors, starting from their own material conditions of life, to express and gain specific social consideration. Lifestyle or "way or style of life" is a combination of intangible or tangible determining factors. Tangible factors specifically refer to demographic variables, i.e. the demographic profile of an individual; Intangible factors concern the psychological aspects of an individual, such as personal values, preferences and perspectives.
