Hacking is the set of methods, techniques and operations aimed at understanding, accessing and modifying a hardware or software computer system. Hacking does not always arise with criminal intent, but today Hacking and hackers are often defined as activities and individuals who operate illegally. They are cyber criminals who act for financial gain, for protest, to gather information (espionage) or simply for the "fun" of the enterprise. In the collective imagination, "hackers" are self-taught young genius minds or dishonest programmers. They are equipped with the skills to manipulate computer hardware or software for uses not intended by the developers. This is a limited idea, which does not take into consideration the countless reasons why hacking can be used. Its nature is technical (for example, creating malvertising that delivers malware in a drive-by attack without requiring user interaction). Hackers can also use psychology to trick you into clicking on a malicious attachment or providing personal information. These strategies are called "social engineering" and can be traced back to hacker activities. Having accompanied the development of information processing and communication technologies, the term Hacking has taken on different nuances depending on the historical period and the scope of application.
