For two days, the halls of the Fondazione Collegio San Carlo in Modena will become a meeting place for those who develop technology, those who study it, and those who want to understand how it is changing. On October 3rd and 4th, the DevFest Modena, the only edition in Emilia-Romagna of the international conference organized by the Google Developer Groups (GDG).

The program brings together conferences, workshops, meetings and networking opportunities between professionals, students and enthusiasts, in an event open to the public free of chargeTo participate, you can register online at devfest.modena.it or directly at the event venue, during the two days of the initiative.

The event is part of the path with which Modena aims to strengthen its innovation ecosystem and, not coincidentally, it also acts as a bridge to the eleventh edition of the Smart Life Festival.

“Hosting the large and passionate DevFest community in Modena for the third consecutive year is another important step towards strengthening the ecosystem of universities, research, businesses, startups, services, and public functions that I recently placed at the heart of a proposal for the development of 21st-century manufacturing.”

observes Massimo Mezzetti, mayor of Modena.

The event sparks debate on AI and paves the way for the Smart Life Festival.

The program is built by the same technological communities that animate the area. The GDG Cloud Modena group, led by Maurizio Ipsale, Mirko Gilioli e David Muzzarelli and part of the international network of Google Developer Groups, organizes the DevFest together with Modena Full Stack, Reggio Emilia Full Stack, Modena.rb, Maker Dojo, Conoscere Linux, PhyRE and Mantova Dev. The result is a calendar that spans very different fields, from cloud computing to web and mobile development. In particular, two out of five thematic strands are entirely dedicated to artificial intelligence, from tools for software writers to its implications for robotics and society.

AI itself will be the common thread between DevFest and the Smart Life Festival, the exhibition on digital culture scheduled in Modena from 15 to 18 October. Its eleventh edition, dedicated to “Intelligence. Natural, Artificial, and Human in the Age of Complexity”, the discussion started a few days earlier at the Collegio San Carlo Foundation will continue.
